Indigo was retained by the Town of Sherman provide civil engineering design and construction administration for this project. This project entailed the rehabilitation of a bridge that consists of two 8-foot diameter corrugated metal culverts and one 4-foot diameter metal culvert. Over the years, the inverts of the three culverts had deteriorated. To avoid complete replacement and save substantial cost, a repair plan consisting of grouting the voids beneath the culverts and installing a reinforced concrete inverts was implemented and ten years later is still functioning as designed. The repair plan also incorporated creating a scour pool downstream and inserting native stones into the reinforced concrete inverts to enhance low flow conditions and to facilitate fish passage.
