Boys & Girls Village
Milford, CT
Indigo provided full site planning and civil engineering services for a new administrative building (photo) and a new vocational building on the BGV campus. Indigo also provided civil engineering design and local and state permitting services for a new large subsurface sewage disposal system to serve the entire BGV facility. The BGV campus consists of administrative offices, a gymnasium, a cafeteria, classrooms and residences. Indigo provided full project coordination, conducted extensive soil testing including deep test pits, percolation tests and permeability tests, system design and permitting and construction administration for all projects. These projects together provide the facilities necessary for BGV to continue its exemplary mission well into the future.
St. John's Church & School
Old Saybrook, CT
Indigo worked cooperatively with the Finance Committee of St. John’s Parish in Old Saybrook to redesign the expansive parking lot for the parish church and school and enhance the overall site safety and aesthetics. The former parking lot did not safely channelize and separate traffic and pedestrians, did not provide an efficient exit flow of traffic following large events and all the parking lot surface was in an aged and deteriorated condition. The project significantly improved site access driveways, provided a new pavement surface, separated student play areas and vehicular access ways, and added attractive traffic islands, landscaping and lighting. With the completion of this project, the reconstructed parking lot will provide greatly improved traffic flow and efficiency, drainage, pedestrian safety, and site aesthetics.
VISTA Life Innovations
1935 Boston Post Road, Westbrook, CT
Indigo provided civil engineering and site planning services for a 20-unit multi-family building and a separate office building for Vista Life Innovations for vocational learning in Westbrook, CT. There were many complexities with this project ranging from on-site sewage disposal to stormwater management. The scope of work included soil testing and groundwater monitoring, local and state permitting, site and stormwater management design, implementation of LID features, etc. This project will assist Vista with their unheralded efforts to nurture their students and continue to provide vocational training and assistance for years to come.
