Institutional Projects

Boys & Girls Village
Milford, CT

Indigo provided civil engineering design and local and state permitting services for a new large subsurface sewage disposal system to serve the entire Boys & Girls Village facility. The facility is comprised of administrative offices, a gymnasium, a cafeteria, classrooms and residences. The sewage design flow was 4,500 gallons per day which provides for future expansion. The former system had completely failed and required full replacement. Indigo provided full project coordination, conducted extensive soil testing including deep test pits, percolation tests and permeability tests, system design and permitting and construction administration. The new state-of-the-art system is comprised of nearly 500 feet of Geomatrix GST 6218 leaching system, three SoilAir blowers and a complex combination of dboxes, tanks, valves, pump chamber and control panel. Indigo provided a careful and conscientious design to maintain site grading conditions to accommodate a possible future parking area and future building expansion.

St. John's Church & School
Old Saybrook, CT

Indigo is presently working cooperatively with the Finance Committee of St. John’s Parish in Old Saybrook to redesign the expansive existing parking lot for the parish church and school and enhance the overall site safety and aesthetics. The existing parking lot does not safely channelize and separate traffic and pedestrians, does not provide an efficient exit flow of traffic following large events and all the parking lot surface is in an aged and deteriorated condition. The project will improve and add site access driveways, provide a new pavement surface, separate student play areas and vehicular access ways, and add attractive traffic islands, landscaping and lighting. We are actively and collaboratively working together with the Committee to determine the preferred scope of work including repaving, drainage, curbing, lighting, landscaping, and relocating the entry/exit lanes. A future phase of this project may include regrading of the athletic field to improve drainage. With the completion of this project, the reconstructed parking lot will provide greatly improved traffic flow and efficiency, pedestrian safety, and site aesthetics.

SureSource & DiSanto Technologies
Shelton, CT

Indigo provided civil engineering design and local and state permitting services for two neighboring sites on Constitution Boulevard South. The “SureSource” building is a 150,000+ square foot corporate headquarters and warehouse building – Indigo was involved with an 18,000 square foot addition to this building and relocation of 57 parking spaces (2007). The addition included warehouse spaces, garage bays and a corporate office with a green roof and putting green. For the DiSanto Technologies building, Indigo was involved with the initial construction of the 25,000 square foot office and manufacturing building (2006) and more recently with an 8,000 square foot addition (2014) to the building. SureSource is an internet warehousing/distribution facility and DiSanto Technologies manufactures precision custom prosthetics.
